Academic Visits | Associate Professor JIN Jun and the Doctoral Student GUO Min Attended the Fourteenth International Globelics Conference

The Fourteenth International Globelics Conference was held from October 12th-14th, 2016 in in Bandung, Indonesia. The theme of this Conference was “Innovation, Creativity and Development: Strategies for Inclusiveness and Sustainability”. this Conference was undertaken by the Faculty of Law (FH) Universitas Padjadjaran (Unpad) in Indonesia. And it was sponsored by Sweden’s Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA); Canada’s International Development Research Centre (IDRC); Denmark’s Aalborg University; Indonesia’s West Java Government, Bandung Municipal Government and Bank Indonesia; and other organizations. About 150 scholars from five continents attended this Conference.

Associate Professor of the School of Management of the ZJU JIN Jun was invited and attended this international conference. During The Conference, Associate Professor JIN Jun, as a reviewer of a sub-venue, reviewed articles of scholars in this sub-venue and made academic exchanges with scholars attended The Conference with respect to the technological leapfrogging of high-tech industries and other aspects. Moreover, during The Conference, Associate Professor JIN Jun, as an alumni representative of the China Innovation Circles and Academy–Learning, Innovation and Competence Systems’ (CICALICS) academy attended alumni luncheon meetings of the Globelics Academy and regional organizations, and discussed with respect to the alumni-network construction of doctoral-student training programs. After the end of The Conference, on October 15th, 2016, Associate Professor JIN Jun attended Globelics’s regional organizations’ meetings, and reported CICALICS’s work progress and plans for 2017. The exchanges deepened the contact and communication between the School of Management of the ZJU, and Globelics and subordinate regional organizations of Globelics.


Doctoral Student of the base GUO Min also attended this international conference, and reported the article that was finished in cooperation with Associate Professor JIN Jun: “Identifying Ideal Types of Reverse Innovation for Enterprises from Developing Countries: Cases of Chinese Enterprises”. The report obtained precious suggestions from scholars attended The Conference, and the suggestions were very helpful for the further revision and improvement of the article.

Globelics is the Global Network for the Economics of Learning, Innovation, and Competence Building System, this network particularly focuses on developing countries’ innovation entrepreneurship and the research and education of national innovation systems. Globelics once a year holds an international conference and an academy (a doctoral-student training program), its subordinate organizations include the CICALICS, the Asia Association of Learning, Innovation and Coevolution Studies (ASIALICS), the India Network for Learning, Innovation and Competence-Building Systems (IndiaLICS), the African Network for the Economics of Learning, Innovation, and Competence Building Systems (AfricaLics), the Latin American Network for Economics of Learning, Innovation, and Competence Building Systems (LALICS), MEDIALICS and other regional organizations. Starting from January of 2017, the Secretariat of Globelics will move from Denmark to Brazil. As of now, Globelics has successfully held its international conference for fourteen times. The School of Management of the ZJU once undertook the tenth Globelics International Conference from November 9th-12th, 2012, and obtained a complete success. The fifteenth Globelics International Conference will be held in Athens, Greece from October 18th-20th, 2017. By then, interested teachers and students can contribute and attend The Conference. In 2017, the Globelics academy will be held in Finland in May, 2017. The application deadline will be January 20th, 2017, and please see for more information.
