CALL FOR APPLICANTS – CICALICS ACADEMY 2025

As an important part of China's Innovation Circles and Academy – a Network on Learning, Innovation and Competence Building Systems, CICALICS ACADEMY aims to provide the most advanced platform for PhD students to communicate and study, and to promote the exchange and cooperation between the PhD students at home and abroad. The forum will invite well-known experts in the field of innovation to deliver lectures for the students. The paper submitted by each PhD student will also be commented and guided by two experts.

Eligible Applicants and Application:

Eligible applicants are both Chinese and international PhD students at advanced stage (at least at the second year).

First priority will be given to PhD students who work explicitly on issues related to “Green and Digital Transition of Firms Towards SDGs, Innovation Management”.

It is expected that applicants present original paper/chapter related to the dissertation work or to ongoing research work in the field of Green and Digital Transition of Firms Towards SDGs, innovation management, innovation systems and economic development. It should include research ives, analytical framework and method, source of data, as well as potential or achieved results.

Applicants should (1) fill in an application form, send (2) one page of explanation on dissertation topic and definition of research questions and (3) a full paper or dissertation chapter of about 15-20 pages in length together with an abstract of the paper with 300-500 English words. The paper or chapter is what you will present at the Academy for discussion and comments. Lecturers especially those who will teach on methodological courses will use them as input when organizing their lectures.

Academy participants are invited to attend the CICALICS Workshop 2025/ International Workshop on Twin Transition of Firms Towards SDGs on 10-11 July, 2025.

Fees: 

l  No application fee is charged;

l  Participants should pay for travel and local accommodations by themselves if Academy will be hold offline.

Selection and Admission:

The Academic Committee will decide admission based on excellence. Totally 20 (max) PhD students will be selected. Admission notice will be sent out not later than 22 June 2025. Participating PhD students must be ed by 1 July 2022.
