On 2nd April, the IFM of Cambridge University professors Shi yongyi and Simon Pattinson paid a visit to NIIM. Besides to select students for ACDMM courses, another important purpose of this visit was to made further discussion on the co-research between Zhejiang University and Cambridge University on global manufacturing and innovation management in the following stage.
On 3rd April, accompanied by doctoral student Lan Jianping, Professor Shi Yongyi and Simon Pattinson paid a visit to Hangzhou Boiler Group Co. Ltd., Hangzhou West Lake Community Technology Co. and West Lake Otis Elevator Company which are the sub- corporations of Xizi United Holdings Ltd. The former of the sub Hangzhou Boiler Group Co. Ltd. was a Sino-U.S. joint venture corporation. Professor Shi yongyi and Simon Pattinson showed a strong interest in the fast development and great success of this characteristic enterprise. During the visit, they proposed some suggestions to this enterprise after specifically been informed its developing history and the future strategy for development.
This visit build a good foundation for the both to conduct the following cooperative research worke. It also promoted essential cooperation between IFM of Cambridge University and NIIM.
