In the afternoon of May14th , visiting professor Tan Jinsong of innovation base hosts doctoral courses defense of Advanced Strategic Management which he was responsible for. All 13 students who completed this course participated in the defense and also lconducted a warm academic discussion. In the beginning, every student made a 3 mints brief presentation about the name, theoretical perspective, methods and anticipated conclusion of their prepared research. The students have
a wide research interests including net structure and innovation, corporate governance, industrial clusters and entrepreneurship, the development of entrepreneurship theory, failure management, technical learning, knowledge conflict, knowledge accessing, social capital, network optimization and strategies matching, knowledge proliferation and simulation, public service model and coalition, and partners selection under technological discontinuities and other theoretical problems.
    Following that was a warm alchemical discussion on research method selection and comprehensive use of several different methods. Professor Tan also explained his understanding toward every research method as well as  their advantages and dis-advantages. Finally, Professor Tan layed his comments on the defense, highly praising students’ performance and hoping there will be a enforced communication and corporation among students of different teams.
    As one of the most important implementation of the strategies of launching essential cooperating with  NIIM and cultivating advanced research talent with international vision, this doctoral courses of Advanced Strategic Management was carefully designed according to the models and context of similar courses in the world first-class universities, which had lasted for more than two moths and was separated into 8 reading chapters and 5 classes discussion. During that time, Professor Tan also used advanced remote video teaching and BBS tools to give students reading and researching guidance. This course has aroused warmly positive response. Students were generally felt benefited. After learning courses not only have they  broadened their horizons in theory and methods but also had they  enhanced their confidence and determination in alchemical study.
