On June 20, visiting Professor Li Ming-fang made a great academic report on “the foundation and frontier of Strategic Management” which evoked a strong reaction from teachers and students of NIIM. This report consists of 6 parts, which are: the key issues in Strategic Management, Environment Change, requirements for Strategic Management practice, Frontier research of Strategic Management, as well as the challenge facing and Strategic Innovation.

At first, he discussed the 4 basic issues in Strategic Management which are: How enterprises behavior? Why there are differences among enterprises? The Scope of enterprises and the functions of the headquarters; the important factors for the success of Internationalization. Then he talked about the managerial environment change in 21 century, and specifically demonstrated the trend for productivity, corporate profit and international M&A. After that, he concluded the developing trend in management practice since 90s.He also generated several frontier issues in Strategic Management including Enterprise Behavior, Network and Alice and International Management, etc. In the end, He roughly defined the connotation of strategic innovation.
