On May 22, 2008, Danish 6-member delegation led by Ms. Inge Maerkedal, Chairman of Danish scientific and technological innovation Committee, visit NIIM. Delegation members from Ministry of Science and Technology Innovation and some famous universities hope that both sides could further explore cooperation in scientific research and joint training of students within the framework of "Sino-Danish strategic cooperation on knowledge" signed by Ministry of Science and Technology of both countries. Background:
On Sep. 25, 2007, the Danish Minister of Science and Technology Innovation, Mr. Sang He and Chinese Minister of Science and Technology Mr. Wan Gang signed a memorandum of understanding on Science and Technology bilateral cooperation in Beijing, which is the support for Danish Government plan of cooperating with China aiming at full support on education, culture and business, and etc. of different aspects of Sino-Danish cooperation. Danish Ministry of science and technology also cooperates with the Chinese Ministry of Education to form strategic alliances of the Sino-Danish bilateral directional colleges and universities. In addition, in order to strengthen and expand cooperation with China in knowledge-driven, Denmark will set up bilateral cooperation fund to promote all kinds of action plan of this project, and promote contact and cultural understanding of the two countries during 2009-2012; and the two countries will also benefit from cooperation under the background of globalization.
