On Oct. 31st to Nov. 4th, Prof. Wu Xiaobo and his research team take part in IDRC project seminar on “Innovation Systems for Inclusive Development: Lessons from Rural China and India” (SIID for short). The main members of SIID include Wu Xiaobo, Gu Shulin, Huang Zuhui, Guo Bin, Shou Yongyi, Ye Chunhui, Hu Ruifa and 4 Ph.D. students. And Master of evolutionary economics from Columbia University Prof. Richard R. Nelson also attends the meeting.
SIID project is sponsored by IDRC (International Development Research Center), lasting for 3 years. This year of 2010 is the important year in the interim stage. SIID members exchange ideas on project progress, and arrange the division in next stage.
Comparative research framework between China and India is mentioned, that’s, how to begin the comparative research of inclusiveness development on agricultural system of innovation level and on rural industry cluster level. And discussion on theory cooperation is producing. The two sides will cooperate in 5 papers on regional innovation system, agricultural-technical popularization system, rural industry cluster and staple foods production. In the end, the two sides exchange ideas on theme of next seminar, news conference, and Ph.D. exchange.
