At 14 o'clock on the June 6, Mr. Yao Jingyuan, a well-known economist as well as chief economist of National Bureau of Statistics was appointed as the part-time professor of Zhejiang University and the ceremony was held in International Convention Center Room 223 on Zijingang Campus of Zhejiang University. Professor Chen Zichen, Deputy Secretary of Party Committee of Zhejiang University, Professor Luo Weidong, Assistant Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ying Biao, Secretary of Party Committee of School of Management, Professor Wang Chongming, executive vice-president of School of Management, Mr. Pan Jiancheng, deputy director of the Monitoring Center of National Bureau of Statistics, Professor Wu Xiaobo, director of NIIM of Zhejiang University, Professor Wei Jiang, deputy director of NIIM, attended the ceremony. The ceremony was chaired by Professor Luo Weidong. Professor Wang Zhongming, Executive vice president of the School of Management, introduced the curriculum vitae of Mr. Yao Jingyuan. Professor Chen Zichen, issued letters of appointment for Mr. Yao Jingyuan and wore a school badge of Zhejiang University for Mr. Yao in person. Mr. Yao Jingyuan then gave a warm speech on appointment, and expressed his hope of making more contributions for Zhejiang University as a member of Zhejiang University.

After the appointment ceremony, Mr. Yao Jingyuan shared with teachers and students of Zhejiang University a brilliant academic report with the theme of "China's macro-economic: Status and Prospects".

 Mr. Yao Jingyuan shared his global outlook, his feel of the pulse of China economy, his thinking from strategically and advantageous position and his lively sense of humor with nearly 200 teachers and students who have benefit from Yao’s report. The audience applauded continuously. After his report, Professor Wei Jiang had a brilliant comments on the report. The present teachers and students were active at raising relevant questions, Mr. Yao Jingyuan answered carefully one by one. The report ended in the warm applause.
